Regional Consultation

The Regional Consultation (RC) was planned as continuation of ICC to develop policy and affirmative joint action among AMS concerning PHL reduction strategies and appropriate technology application. RC has been conducted on 4-7 February 2018, which takes place at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) International Convention Center and Santika Hotel, Bogor, Indonesia. The RC has attended by 9 AMS delegations, designated by ICC previous exploration. Invited participants were three designated persons, for each AMS representing research institution, government agency and practitioners’ representative, either from business or farmer associations. The results of Regional Consultation are as follows: 1. Selected Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam as a country that will conduct Pilot Activities with consecutive commodities of chili, rice, and pineapple, respectively, 2. Launching of ASEAN PHL-Network supported by web-application: www.phl-asean.org, 3. Sharing of PHL reduction practices and related technological efforts among AMS included Methodology of PHL Estimation, Application of PHL Reduction Technology, and PHL Reduction Policy.

The RC (Regional Consultation) was attended by AMS delegations, appointed by ICC previous exploration. Invited participants were three designated persons, for each AMS representing research institution, government agency and practitioners’ representative, either from business or farmer associations. Expert presentation and practitioner inputs were discussed during RC and giving valuable insight of PHL issues. The general results of Regional Consultation are including: (a) Selected Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam as a country that will conducting Pilot Activities with specific commodities of chili, rice, and pineapple, respectively, (b) Launching of ASEAN PHL-Network supported by webapplication: www.phl-asean.org, and (c) Sharing of PHL reduction practices and related technological efforts among AMS included Methodology of PHL Estimation, Application of PHL Reduction Technology, and PHL Reduction Policy.
