The Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Standardization (IAAIS) plays an active role in international forums. On April 24-25, 2024, IAAIS, as the focal point for Indonesia, along with ASEAN countries, participated in The 18th Meeting of The ASEAN Technical Working Group on Agricultural Research and Development (ATWGARD) virtually.
The Secretary of BSIP, Dr. Haris Syahbuddin, represented by the Head of Indonesian Agroclimate and Hydrology Instrument Standard Testing Institute, Rima Purnamayani, served as the head of the Indonesian delegation at the meeting. Indonesia presented its programs and achievements in the agricultural sector, including Indonesia’s rice self-sufficiency from 2019-2021, the development of the SISCrop 2.0 and Integrated KATAM information systems, balanced fertilization for improving soil and agricultural product quality, and breakthroughs in decarbonization in Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
Additionally, IAAIS, through the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Postharvest Instrument Standard Testing (ICAPOST), presented the project plan for the Reduction of Post-Harvest Losses for Agricultural Produces Phase 2. One of the outputs to be produced is a draft standard for post-harvest handling to reduce losses in chili production within the ASEAN region.
