REGIONAL WORKSHOP

Regional workshop is an activities series of the ASEAN Cooperation Project on the Reduction of Post-harvest Losses for Agricultural Products and Produce in ASEAN Region. In general the objective of the regional workshop was knowledge shared related to the experience of implementing the overall project activities. In addition, building a shared understanding of key issues in reducing postharvest losses. Regional workshops also build networks of experts and practitioners who are able to provide input for the policy development of postharvest reduction.

Regional workshop was held on 27-29 August 2018 in Bali Indonesia. This agenda attended by ADB representative, FAO representative, Indonesian Central Bank, and invited participants are three (3) designated person as determined through previous activities, for each AMS representing research institutions or government officers (ASEAN Technical Working Group on Agricultural Research and Development – ATWGARD), and practitioners representative, either from business or farmer associations.

At this event, APHENet (Alliance Postharvest Expert Networking) was also introduced, which is a network of experts across universities in the ASEAN region who are concerned with the reduction of postharvest losses. The APHENet was proposed to manage the knowledge sharing activities whose platform had been developed during the project.
